Alexis Townsend and Don Simon are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Cindy Roach and Don Townsend, both of Maryville, Mo. He is the son of Joy and Mike Simon of Sedalia, Mo.
The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Maryville R-II High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia with a bachelor of science degree in biology. She attends Missouri University School of Medicine and will graduate in 2011.
The future groom is a 2003 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Sedalia and a 2007 graduate of MU with a bachelor of science degree in agricultural systems management. He is employed with Walgreens in Columbia as a assistant manager.

The future bride is a 1999 graduate of Loveland High School and a 2004 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville with a bachelor of science degree in physical and health education. She is employed with Robidoux Middle School in St. Joseph as the seventh- and eighth-grade girls health and PE teacher.
The future groom is a 1997 graduate of Lafayette High School and a 2002 graduate of Missouri Western State University with a bachelor of science degree in physical education. He is employed at Lafayette High School as a PE teacher.

Katherine Hunter Cox and Michael Lloyd Deering are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Verna and Richard Cox of Carrolton, Mo. He is the son of the late Elizabeth and the late Lloyd Deering and is under the guardianship of Dan and Janice Bayer of Savannah, Mo.
The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Carrrolton High School and 2007 graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia with a bachelor of science degree in animal science. She is employed at Virginia Tech University’s Marion Dupont-Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg as a nurse of veterinary medicine.
The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Savannah High School, a 2004 graduate of MU with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural journalism and a 2005 graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater with a master’s degree in agricultural communications. He is employed with the U.S. Grains Council in Washington, D.C. as the director of public relations.

She is the daughter of Judy and John Webster of Rock Port, Mo. He is the son of Carolyn and Jeff Sampson of St. Joseph.
The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Rock Port R-II High School and a 2005 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville with a bachelor of science degree in pre-professional zoology and minors in biochemistry and Spanish. She is a third-year medical student at the University of Missouri-School of Medicine in Columbia. She will graduate in 2009 and plans to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology.
The future groom is a 2002 graduate of Benton High School and a 2005 graduate of Kansas City, Kan., Community College with a degree in mortuary science. He is employed with Clark-Sampson Funeral Home as a funeral director and embalmer.

The future groom is a 1996 graduate of Bishop LeBlond High School and will graduate this year from Western New Mexico University in Silver City with a bachelor of science degree in business. He is employed with DPS Services in Silver City as a mechanic.

Amy Lynne Dunn and William Lewis Joseph Cunningham were married March 15, 2008, at their home in St. Joseph by Benny Rainey.
She is the daughter of Linda M. and Dennis Barnhill of St. Joseph and Lloyd and Donna Dunn of Florida. He is the son of Sally Hall of Normandy, Tenn., and Lewis Cunningham of Shelbyville, Tenn.
She is a 1993 graduate of East Buchanan High School in Gower, Mo., and a 1998 graduate of Missouri Western University with a bachelor of social work degree. She is employed with the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department as an administrative aide.
He attended Cascade High School in Wartrace, Tenn., and is employed with Pine Valley Contracting in Savannah, Mo., as an operator.

Erica Barton and Ryan Mace Canterbury were married April 4, 2008, at Hyde Park byCriss Eighmy.
She is the daughter of Sharon Nicks and Gregg Barton, both of St. Joseph. He is the son of Tammy and Jeff Canterbury of St. Joseph.
The bride’s attendant was Sharon Nicks.

The newlyweds honeymooned is Hawaii. They reside in St. Joseph

Jennifer Roark and Kent Ashby were married March 28, 2008, at the Buchanan County Courthouse by Judge John Boeh.
She is the daughter of Anita Roark of St. Peters, Mo., and the late Richard Roark. He is the son of Shelley and Brent Ashby of St. Joseph.
A reception was held at the Fountains at Corby Place.
The newlyweds live in St. Joseph.
She is a 2002 graduate of Fort Zumwalt South High School in St. Peters and a 2006 graduate of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. She is employed at Walgreens Drug Store as an assistant manager.
He is a 2003 graduate of Benton High School and is employed with M & M Quality Solutions as a quality tech.

Heather M. Clark and Matt Rivera were married April 4, 2008, in St. Joseph by Judge Keith Marquart.
She is the daughter of Connie Hager and Donald A. Hager, both of St. Joseph. He is the son of Frances and Lollie Rivera of St. Joseph.

Best man was Dave Koelin.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Cancun. They live in St. Joseph.
She is a 1990 graduate of Lafayette High School and a 1995 graduate of Missouri Western State University with an associate of science degree in Spanish and a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. She is employed with the Missouri Department of Corrections as a functional unit manager. He is a 1988 graduate of Bishop LeBlond High School and attended Missouri Western. He is employed with the Missouri Department of Corrections as a corrections officer.

Elizabeth Marie Justus and Andrew Samuel Cox were married, March 1, 2008, in their home in St. Joseph by Dave Coursen.
She is the daughter of Melissa Ann McCrary and Benjamin Lucas Sr. and Christina Marie Justus of St. Joseph. He is the son of Tammy Sue Mooney and Martin Samuel and Connie Sue Cox of St. Joseph.
The bride was escorted by Tony Hart.
Maid of honor was Melissa Stagner, and bridesmaids were Tiara Justus, Jamie Smith, Sarah Ackerman and Jessica Dickinson.
Best man was Robert M. Warner, and groomsman was Bill Peeks.
Flower girl was Stefanie Cox. Ring bearer was Brandon Richards.
A reception was held at the newlywed’s home.

She is a 2006 graduate of Lafayette High School, attended Vatterott College and is a 2006 graduate of Hillyard Technical Center. She is employed with La Verna Village Nursing Home in Savannah, Mo., as a laundry aide. He is a 2005 graduate of Central High School and employed with Albaugh Inc. in packaging.

Anniversary: Burton and Burton

Easton, Mo. — Robert H. Jr. and Ann (Carmichael) Burton of Easton will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary Thursday, April 10.
They were married on that date in 1953 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Easton. He served in the Air Force and later joined the Missouri Air National Guard. He is a graduate of McGee-Tyson NCO Academy and retired after 42 years with the rank of Chief.
Their children are Martha Burton of Lame Deer, Mont., and Katherine Morris and her husband, Tim, of Kansas City. Another daughter, Mary Ellen Burton, is deceased.
There are five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter

Bob and Terry Conard of St. Joseph will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary Monday, April 14. They were married on that date in 1973 at Community Christian Church. They have lived in St. Joseph all their married lives. He is employed with the Weyerhaeuser Corp. as a sales representative. She is employed by the St. Joseph School District as a second-grade teacher at Hosea Elementary School.
Their children and their spouses are Annie and Ryan Eaton and Daniel and Michelle Conard, all of St. Joseph. There is one granddaughter.
A dinner is planned.

Anniversary: Haskins

Bill and Juanita Haskins of St. Joseph will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, April 17.
They were married on that date in 1948 at First Baptist Church. He retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1983 after 36 years of service.
She retired in 1988 after 16 years of teaching at Webster School.
Their children and their spouses are: Kathy and Dennis Schildknecht of Branson, Mo.; Jo and Elmer Mayse of St. Joseph; and Randy and Susan Haskins of Holly Springs, N.C. There are 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

There are five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild is expected.

He retired from judging horse shows for the Missouri Paint Horse Association. She worked at the Maysville R-I School District, has worked at various auction companies and has been the tax collector for Sherman Township in DeKalb County for 15 years.
Their children and their spouses are: Dennis and Wilma Swope and Jeanne Swope, all of Clarksdale; Danny and Donna Swope of Maysville; Larry Dean Swope and Marty Swope, both of Amity; and Julie Clemens of Stewartsville, Mo. There are 11 grandchildren.

Anniversary: Silvey and Silvey

SAVANNAH, Mo. — Carl and Rosalie Silvey of Savannah will celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary Monday, April 14. They were married on that date in 1949 in St. Joseph.
He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad. She is a homemaker.
Their children and their spouses are Carl and Kathy Silvey and Carla and Terry Hartley, all of Decatur, Texas; Karen and John Wertin of St. George, Kan.; and Tammy and Gayle Myers of St. Joseph. There are eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
