Engagement: Wipf and Zeiger

Lynn Marie Wipf and Jerry Zeiger are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Rose Marie and John Fridgen of Ortonville, Minn. He is the son of Mary Elizabeth and William Zeiger of Stanberry, Mo.
She is a 1980 graduate of Ortonville High School.
He is a 1982 graduate of Jefferson High School in Conception Junction, Mo., and is employed with Plaas Inc. as a welder and pipefitter.
Their wedding is to be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Springfield (S.D.) Community Chapel. A reception is planned for a later date in Conception Junction. Friends and relatives are invited.

Anniversary: Zirkle and Zirkle

STEWARTSVILLE, Mo. — Ronald and Phyllis Zirkle of Stewartsville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Huffman Memorial United Methodist Church in St. Joseph.

They were married on that date in 1958 at King Hill Methodist Church in St. Joseph. He retired from the Missouri Air National Guard after 32 years of service, his last position as a loadmaster with the 139th Mobile Aerial Port Flight, and from Polsky Motors after 10 years of service as a service advisor. She retired from the St. Joseph School District as a secretary after 12 years of service in the counselling centers at Truman and Bode middle schools and at Central High School. They have lived all their lives in the St. Joseph area. Their children and their spouses are Tim and Terry Zirkle and Starr and Darryl Richardson, all of St. Joseph; and Rod and Shelly Zirkle of Kansas City. There are five grandsons.
The honorees celebrated with a trip to Hawaii.

Julia Anne Jackson and Chad Michael Dennis are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Mary and Lawrence Jackson of Edgerton, Mo. He is the son of Barbara and Bob Dennis of Kingsville, Mo.
The future bride is a 1997 graduate of North Platte High School in Dearborn, Mo., and a 2002 graduate of Missouri Western State College with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed with St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City as a registered nurse.
The future groom is a 1990 graduate of Blue Springs (Mo.) High School and a 1994 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville with a bachelor of science degree in broadcast journalism. He is employed with Mac Equipment Inc. in Kansas City in sales.

She is the daughter of Maribeth and Brad Keller of St. Joseph. He is the son of Beth and David Moyers of St. Joseph.
The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Central High School and a 2007 magna cum laude graduate of William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., with a bachelor of arts degree in international relations and political science with minors in economics and Japanese. She is employed with Scarbrough International Ltd. in Kansas City as an import freight forwarding supervisor.
He is a 2003 graduate of Central High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia with a bachelor of arts degree in accounting and a master’s in accountancy degree. He is employed with Ernst & Young as a tax accountant.

She is the daughter of Dona and Rick Kemerling of Fairfax, Mo. He is the son of Sarah and Larry Salmond of Mount Vernon, Mo.
The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Fairfax High School and a 2004 graduate of the St. Joseph Beauty University with a cosmetology license. She is employed with A Perfect-10 in Rock Port, Mo., as a hairstylist.

She is the daughter Connie and William Snodgrass of Wathena, Kan. He is the son of Conni Kline of St. Joseph and the late James Kline.
The future bride is a 2006 graduate of Wathena High School and is pursuing a psychology degree at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. She is employed at Heartland Regional Medical Center as a pharmacy technician.
The future groom is a 2004 graduate of Central High School and will join the Army in June. He is employed at Specialized Support Services as a patient care technician.

Wedding: Conroy and Edwards

Carly Lee Conroy and Curtis Robert Edwards were married Jan. 2, 2008, at Malolo Island Resort in Fiji.
She is the daughter of Sally and Duane Wiley of Gower, Mo., and Steven and Dee Conroy of St. Joseph. He is the son of Janice and Steven Edwards of St. Joseph.
A local reception was held in March at the Holiday Inn.
The newlyweds honeymooned at Malolo Island Resort in Fiji. They live in St. Joseph.
She is a 1999 graduate of Bishop LeBlond High School and will graduate in 2009 from Missouri Western State University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She is employed with the Missouri Air National Guard as a dental assistant.
He is a 1997 graduate of Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minn., and will graduate in December from Missouri Western with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. He is serving an internship with Boehringer Ingelheim as an internship.

Kristin Davis and Kyle Johnson are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Jayne and Kevin Davis of Savannah, Mo. He is the son of Cathy and Steven Johnson of Clarksdale, Mo.
The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Savannah High School, a 2005 graduate of North Central Missouri College in Trenton with an associate of applied science degree in farm management with an equine emphasis and will graduate this year from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville with a bachelor of science degree in secondary education with a major in agriculture education and a minor in animal science.
The future groom is a 2001 graduate of Savannah High School and a 2007 graduate of Northwest Missouri State with a bachelor of science degree in animal science (pre-vet).

Wedding: Brown and Wood

Alyssa Brown and William Wood III were married April 26, 2008.
She is the daughter of Marcie and Joel Toombs and Joe Lysaght, all of St. Joseph. He is the son of Cindy Wolf and William Wood Jr., both of St. Joseph.
The bride was escorted by her stepfather.
Maid of honor was Micaela Toombs. Best man was Christopher Kretzer.
A reception was held at the Southside Reception Hall.
The newlyweds live in St. Joseph. She is a 2005 graduate of Central High School and attends Missouri Western State University. She is employed by La Petite Academy as a lead preschool teacher.
He is a 2003 graduate of Central High School.

Cynthia Sue Coon and Eric Mathew Gray were married Jan. 5, 2008, at Spanky & Buckwheat Hall by Carol Fisher.
She is the daughter of Pamela and Louis Coon of St. Joseph. He is the son of Sandra and Charles Gray of St. Joseph.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Maid of honor was Amber Rife, and bridesmaids were Ashley Coon and Crystal DeSpain.
Best man was Raymond Coon, and groomsmen were Logan Gray and Louis Walker.
Flower girl was Anna Marie Wilkerson, and ring bearer was Llayton Coon.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They live in St. Joseph.
She is a 2007 graduate of Benton High School and is employed with Specialized Support Services as a level one med aide.
He is a 1998 graduate of Benton High School and is employed with the Buchanan County Highway Department of St. Joseph as a heavy equipment operator.

Tammy Marie Crossfield and Joshua Lee Thornton are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Ruth and Rick Moore and Rick and Cathy Crossfield, all of St. Joseph.
He is the son of Sharon Thornton of St. Joseph and Donald and Kelly Thornton of Helena, Mo.
The future bride, a 1993 graduate of Central High School, attended Missouri Western State College and Apollo College in Arizona and graduated from Concorde Career College in Kansas City with a respiratory therapist degree. She is employed at St. Luke’s in Kansas City as a respiratory therapist.
The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Union Star (Mo.) High School in Union Star and a 2005 graduate of Missouri Western State University with a degree in criminal justice. He is employed at AT&T as a retail sales consultant.
Their wedding is to be at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Twin Spires. A reception will follow at 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Mitchell Avenue.

Anniversary: Clark

ALBANY, Mo. — Roy and Virginia (Spainhower) Clark of Albany will celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary by renewing their wedding vows at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at First Christian Church in Albany. A reception will follow.

They were married on Feb. 21, 1945, in Oakland, Calif. Their daughter, Connie Martin, lives in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. There are two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

Anniversary: Evans

HELENA, Mo. — Vincent and Joann Evans of Helena will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, May 1.
They were married on that date in 1948. He has farmed in the Helena community since their marriage, and she is retired from Savannah R-III and Helena School after 25 years as secretary.
Their children and their spouses are: Tom and Dolores Evans of Batavia, Ohio; and Terry and Deborah Evans and Patricia and Stan Kapp of Cosby, Mo.
There are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

BETHANY, Mo. — Junior and Betty (Bogue) Zerbe of Bethany will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Bethany Community Center.

They were married May 7, 1943, and lived in Eagleville, Mo., for 38 years before moving to Bethany in 1988.
He is a Navy veteran, having served in the South Pacific. He was a plumber at Bethany Hardware and retired in 1988 from the Eagleville Highway Department. She was a cook at North Harrison School and worked at the Eagleville Locker for 21 years as a meat wrapper.
Their children are Karla Holman and Terry Zerbe and his wife, Sally.
There are six grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 14 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Anniversary: Krofft

Roger and Betty Krofft of St. Joseph celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary April 24.
They were married on that date in 1948 at Harmony Presbyterian Church at San Antonio, Mo. He retired from Affiliated Foods after 29 years of service. She is a homemaker.
Their children and their spouses are: Steve Krofft of Littleton, Colo.; Doug and Vicki of St. Louis, Mo.; and Patricia Vernon of St. Joseph. There are five grandchildren.

Frank H. Jr. and Joyce M. Hurt of St. Joseph will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, May 2.
They were married on that date in 1958 at Third Street Presbyterian Church. He retired from Mead Products after 42 years of service. She has been doing alterations for 40 years and is still working for a local cleaners.
Their children and their spouses are Frank III. and Tammy Hurt and Debbie and Bill Reese, all of St. Joseph. There are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A dinner with family and friends will be held May 2.

He retired from Yellow Freightways in Kansas City. She is employed with the King City R-I School District.
