Wedding: Frieden and Meyer

Ashley Frieden and Chris Meyer were married June 7, 2008, in Las Vegas.
She is the daughter of Gail Frieden of Platte City, Mo., and Steve Frieden of Faucett, Mo. He is the son of Kathy and Kelly Meyer of Oregon, Mo.
A reception will be held for the newlyweds at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Kovac’s Hall. Friends and relatives are invited.
The newlyweds live in St. Joseph.
She is a 2006 graduate of Mid-Buchanan High School in Faucett, Mo. and a 2007 graduate of Hillyard Technical Center with a degree in practical nursing. She is employed with Evans Pediatrics as an licensed practical nurse.
He is a 2002 graduate of Benton High School. He is employed with Ruan Transportation as a mechanic.

Wedding: Ellis and Rush

Debi L. Ellis and Steve Rush were married June 21, 2008, at the Lake of the Ozarks by Judge Dan Kellogg.
She is the daughter of Karlyn Meers of Agency, Mo., and Fred Myers of Neosha, Mo.
He is the son of the late Kathleen Rush and the late Richard Rush.
The bride was escorted by her father. The groom was escorted by his daughters, Rayna Barker, Randi Rush and Renee Rush.
A honeymoon is planned for a later date. The newlyweds live in St. Joseph.
She is a 1976 graduate of Central High School and attended Missouri Western State University. She is the jury administrator for Buchanan County.
He is a 1969 graduate of Christian Brothers High School and a 1973 graduate of Missouri Western State University with a bachelor of science degree in psychology, an associate of science degree in law enforcement and a bachelor of science degree in technology. He has been employed with UPS as a driver for 31 years.

Engagement: Hall and Robinson

Amy Beth Hall and William Matthew Robinson are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Kim (Simmerman) and Steve Hall of DeKalb, Mo. He is the son of Debbie and Terry Robinson of Lancaster, Kan.
The future bride is a 2004 graduate of DeKalb High School and a 2008 graduate of Missouri Western State University with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed with St. John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kan.
The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Atchison (Kan.) County Community High School, a graduate of Highland Community College with an associate of arts degree and a graduate of Northeast Kansas Technical College with an associate degree in computer support. He is employed with the Bottorff Construction Company in Atchison as a foreman.
Their wedding is to be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Rushville (Mo.) Christian College. A reception will follow at the V.F.W. in Atchison.

Marissa Kaylene Tucker and Nicholaus Benjamin Sexton are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Lea and David Tucker of Savannah, Mo. He is the son of Susan and Larry Sexton of St. Joseph.
The future bride is a 2007 graduate of Savannah High School and is employed with Word of Life Church in facilities.
The future groom is a 2007 graduate of Savannah High School and is pursuing a degree in education and history at Missouri Western State University. He is employed with Kohls as a department worker.

Wedding: Rhodes and Putnam

Kelly Rhodes and Robert Putnam were married June 26, 2008, at Krug Park by Lyle Smith.
She is the daughter of Katherine Rhodes of St. Joseph and the late John T. Rhodes. He is the son of Patricia Putnam of St. Joseph and the late Ronald Putnam.
The bride was escorted by her son, Jacob Ellis.
Matron of honor was Debra Paxton, and bridesmaids were Hannah Almanza, daughter of the bride, and Taylor Putnam, daughter of the groom.
Best man was Shane Pritchett, and groomsman was Levi Almanza, son of the bride.
Flower girls were Sydney Klanert and Natalie Klamert, daughters of the bride.
The newlyweds reside in St. Joseph.
She is a 1991 graduate of Lafayette High School. She is employed with the St. Joseph Police Department as a booking officer.
He attended Lafayette High School and is employed with Continental Fire Sprinkler as a sprinkler fitter.

Heather Dyana Horn and Erick William John Thornton are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Paula and Bill Horn of St. Joseph. He is the son of Bonnie and Rick Thornton of Newport, Mich. The future bride is a 1998 graduate of Central High School and a 2003 graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo., with a bachelor of science degree in church ministry and math. She is employed with Wellsville Baptist Church as an associate pastor.
The future groom is a 1994 graduate of Glenwood High School in Chatham, Ill., and is employed with Cencan LLC as a technician foreman.

The future bride, a 2006 graduate of South Harrison High School in Bethany, will graduate in 2010 from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg with a degree in dietetics.
The future groom, a 2002 graduate of South Harrison High School, will graduate in 2009 from the University of Central Missouri with a bachelor of science degree in history.

The future groom is a 2001 graduate of Central High School and a 2005 graduate of Missouri Western State University with a degree in electronics engineering technology. He is employed with Black & Veatch in Kansas City as an electrical engineering technician.

The future bride is a 2000 graduate of Bishop LeBlond High School and a 2004 graduate of St. Marys College in Notre Dame, Ind., with a bachelor of arts degree in English writing/literature.
The future groom is a 2001 graduate of Chantilly (Va.) High School and attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. He serves in the Navy, stationed in San Diego, Calif., as a sonar technician second class aboard the L.A. Class fast attack submarine USS Helena.

Lindsay German and Justin Koenig are engaged to be married.
She is the daughter of Janie and Melvin German of Somerville, Tenn. He is the son of Alicia and Thomas Koenig of Easton, Mo.
The future bride is a 2002 graduate of Fayette Academy in Somerville and a 2006 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University in Moscow, Tenn., with a degree in early childhood education. She is employed with La Grange in Moscow as a preschool teacher.
The future groom is a 2002 graduate of Central High School and is employed with Coastal Parasail as a captain.

Anniversary: Kariker

PATTONSBURG, Mo. — Dale and Frances Kariker of Pattonsburg, Mo., will celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary Tuesday, July 22. Both also recently celebrated their birthdays. She turned 83 on May 19, and he turned 92 on June 20.
Their children are Edwina Ritzinger, Anthony Kariker and Phoebe Everett, all of St. Joseph, and Edward Kariker of Plattsburg. Another child, Amaryllis Cain, is deceased.
There are 10 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A great-grandchild is deceased.

Anniversary: McCallan

Alfred G. and Hilah J “Judy” McCallan of St. Joseph celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 11.
They were married on that date in 1958 in Troy, Kan. He is a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the Army in Korea as a radio teletype operator, cryptanalyst and courier. He worked for Armour & Co., F & S Meat, Seitz, Dugdale, Herzog, MoKan, Keller Construction and retired from Affiliated Foods as a dock supervisor after 26 years of service.
She worked for the Civic Arena, Missouri Theater, HPI, Sherwood Medical, Whitaker Cable Co., Townsend & Wall and the Douglas Candy Co.
Their children and their spouses are: Teresa Ann and David W. Wilson, Lisa Marie and Michael D. “Recon” Hanshaw, Melicia Gail “Missy” Griffith and life partner Tommy Langley, all of St. Joseph; Felicia Marthe and Mark L. Young of King City, Mo.; and Alfred Joseph “Sonny” and Brenda L. McCallan III of Lemars, Iowa. There are 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Anniversary: McKee

Kenny and Alida McKee, former St. Joseph residents now living in Stover, Mo., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at their home in Stover.

He retired from Seitz. She worked at the Beck Road Cleaners and Lou’s Liquor and Deli.

Anniversary: Neff

Stephen and Karen Neff of St. Joseph celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary July 12.
They were married on that date in 1968 at First Christian Church. He retired from the St. Joseph School District after 36 years in public education. She is the owner of Tanfastic I and II.
Their children and their spouses are Christopher and Jaime Neff and Chad and Beth Neff. There are three grandchildren. The honorees took a trip to Niagara Falls.

Anniversary: Stallard

GOWER, Mo. — Bill and Ann Stallard of Gower will celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary today.
They were married July 20, 1968, at Cathedral of St. Joseph. They have lived in Gower since he retired from the Navy, after serving 21 years. He is employed with Cleaver Brooks boiler company out of Lincoln, Neb. She has formed a nursing consulting business specializing in long-term care and contracted in Bakersfield, Calif., until the first of August.
Their children are Jennie, Billy and Valerie. There are four grandchildren.
The honoree plan an Alaskan cruise in August to celebrate.

Anniversary: O’Dell and O’Dell

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. — Ron and Carolyn O’Dell of Chillicothe  will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, July 26.
They were married July 26, 1958, in Maryville, Mo. He is a former school administrator, and she is a homemaker.
Their daughter is Beth Milanovich of Chillicothe, Mo.. There are two grandchildren.
