Gromowski and Bennett

Stephanie Renee Gromowski and Christopher Allen Bennett are engaged to be married. She is the daughter of Angela and Mike Gromowski of St. Joseph. He is the son of Brenda and Jim Teel of Princeton, Mo. The future bride, a 2006 graduate of Benton High School, attends Missouri Western State University. She is employed with Ruth Huston Childcare through the St. Joseph School District as a 2-year-old lead teacher. The future groom is a 2006 graduate of Princeton High School and is employed with Bartlett Grain. Their wedding is to be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at First Christian Church in Savannah, Mo. A reception will follow at Spanky and Buckwheat's Reception Hall. Friends and relatives are invited.

Amy Diane Brown and Scott Cody Gene Cremer are engaged to be married. She is the daughter of Cindy and Bob Brown of St. Joseph. He is the son of Shauna Cremer and David and Sherry Cremer, all of St. Joseph. The future bride is a 2007 graduate of Savannah (Mo.) High School and attends Missouri Western State University. She is employed with Commerce Bank as a teller. The future groom is a 2005 graduate of Savannah High School and is employed with Atchison Casting. Their wedding will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Turning Point Church of the Nazarene. A reception will be held at 6 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Friends and relatives are invited.

Boeh and Hamilton

Bethanee Joan Boeh and Matthew Thomas Hamilton were married Oct. 4, 2008, at Cathedral of St. Joseph by the Rev. Joseph Powers. She is the daughter of Andrea and John Boeh of St. Joseph. He is the son of Carol and Dr. Thomas Hamilton of Topeka, Kan. The bride was escorted by her father. Maid of honor was Monica Boeh. Best man was Ryan Hamilton. A reception was held at the Stoney Creek Inn. The rehearsal dinner was held at La Doice Vita at 36th Street Restaurant. The newlyweds honeymooned in the Bahamas and Grand Turk.

Covert and Stortz

Sierra Irene Covert and Brandon Stortz are engaged to be married. She is the daughter of Irene and Dalton Covert of Robinson, Kan. He is the son of Cynthia Stortz of Manhattan, Kan., and Darrell Stortz of Emporia, Kan. The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Highland (Kan.) High School, 2005 graduate of Highland Community College and a 2008 graduate of Kansas State University in Manhattan with a bachelor's degree in life science. She is employed with the city of Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department as a customer service rep. I. The future groom is a 2002 graduate of Concordia (Kan.) High School and will graduate in May from K-State with a bachelor's degree in park management and conservation with recreation business. He is employed with the city of Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department. Their wedding will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Manhattan. A reception will follow at the Houston Street Ballroom. Friends and relatives are invited.

Mabury and Weddle

Kady Rahne Mabury and Blake Stewart Weddle were married Aug. 2, 2008, at the St. Joseph Country Club by Kevin Mabury, father of the bride. She is the daughter of Shanie and Jim Finley of Stet, Mo.. and Kevin and Terry Mabury of St. Joseph. He is the son of Stephanie and Harley Weddle of King City, Mo. The bride was escorted by her father. Maid of honor was Amber Mabury, and bridesmaids were Kristen Workman, Jordan Weddle, Nicole Deveau, Katrina Darr and Kortnie Goodrich. Best man was Joseph Waltemath, and groomsmen were Dustin Gust, Brenton Becerra, Kirby Porter, Eric Mabury and Alex Goetting. A reception was held at the St. Joseph Country Club. The rehearsal dinner was held at First Presbyterian Church. The newlyweds honeymooned in Acapulco, Mexico. They live in St. Joseph. She is a 2004 graduate of Mid-Buchanan High School and a 2008 graduate of Missouri Western State University with a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design. She is employed with Starbucks Coffee Co. as a shift supervisor. He is a 2005 graduate of King City (Mo.) High School and is pursuing a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design at Missouri Western. He is employed with the Target Starbucks as a barista.

Susanna Bernard and Rick Ray Crossfield were married Nov. 8, 2008, at Deer Park Grace Methodist Church. The bride was escorted by her son, Timothy A. Bernard. Maid of honor was Nazaria Crail, and bridesmaid was Angelica Drausin. Best man was Michael McCartney, and groomsman was Michael Crossfield. Others in the wedding party were: Josephine Huff, flower girl; Jackson Crossfield, ring bearer; Matthew Deet Jr. III and Gary Crossfield, ushers; Nickey Crail and Holley Crail, candlelighters; and Louisa McCartney and Debbie Chavez unity candlelighters. The newlyweds reside in St. Joseph.

Kathleen Annigian and Adam Musick were married Oct. 18, 2008, at the home of the bride's parents by Billie Charboneau. She is the daughter of Diana and Gregory Annigian of St. Joseph. He is the son of Sherry Musick and Patrick Musick, both of St. Joseph. The bride was escorted by her father. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. The newlyweds live in St. Joseph. She is a 2006 graduate of Benton High School and is a junior at Missouri Western State University, pursuing a degree in photography. She is employed with Record Wear House as a supervisor. He is a 2004 graduate of Benton High School and a 2007 graduate of Missouri Western with a degree in biology with a health emphasis. He is employed with the USDA as a food safety inspector.

SAVANNAH, Mo. - Robert and Esther Wardlow of Savannah will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary at a reception from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at LaVerna Village in Savannah. Hall Ave., Savannah, MO 64485. They were married on that date in 1938 in Troy, Kan., and are former residents of Fillmore, Mo., and Savannah. He was born on Nov. 30, 1918, in Whitesville, Mo., and retired from the Fillmore (Mo.) School as a custodian/school bus driver. She retired from Head Start. Their children and their spouses are: Barb and Bob Sanders of Surprise, Ariz.; Jim and Sharon Wardlow of Kansas City; Dwight Wardlow of Sadona, Ariz.; Rodger and Connie Wardlow of Albion, Ind.; Raymond and Peggy Wardlow and David and Julie Wardlow, all of Independence, Mo.; Lindsey and Rita Wardlow of St. Joseph; Robin and Lisa Wardlow of Fillmore; and Kyle and Tracy Wardlow of DeKalb, Mo.

Martin and Sandra Davis of St. Joseph celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary Oct. 21. They were married on that date in 1978 in St. Joseph and are lifelong residents of this city. Their children and their spouses are Amber and Matthew Casada, Jeremy Davis and Ceirra and Jacob Wayne. There are two grandchildren.

CLARKSDALE, Mo. - Tom and Shirley (Young) Davis of Clarksdale will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Wednesday, Dec. 3. They were married on that date in 1948 at Oak (Mo.) Christian Church. He is a veteran of World War II and retired from Wonder Bread in Dallas, Texas. She was a beautician and retired from Mary Kay Cosmetics in Dallas. Their children and their spouses are Tim and Vickie Davis of Houston, Texas, and Ken and Debbie Davis of Springdale, Ark. There are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. No celebration is planned.

Louis and Frances Prescher of St. Joseph celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 27. They were married on that date in 1948 in St. Joseph. He is a retired farmer. She retired from Whitacker Cable and Heartland Regional Medical Center. Their daughter and son-in-law are Carol and Wayne Barnett of St. Joseph. A son, Steven L. Prescher, is deceased. There are two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. A family dinner is planned for a later date. Cards may be sent to the honorees at 6509 S.E. Watkins

STEWARTSVILLE, Mo. - Sam and Leah (Divelbiss) Watkins of Stewartsville will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary at a small gathering and Bible study. They were married Nov. 27, 1938, in St. Joseph. He has been mostly self-employed, including starting with a sawmill he and his brother, John, owned and operated; shearing sheep; carpentry, building houses; digging graves for the cemetery; and a variety of other jobs.
