Karri Luke are Josh Schieber are engaged to be married. She is the daughter of Karen and Steve Luke of Stanberry, Mo. He is the son of Molly and Jim Schieber of Archie, Mo. The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Stanberry R-II High School and a 2007 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville with a bachelor of science degree in child and family studies. She is employed with Suzlon Wind Energy in King City as an office manager. The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Stanberry R-II High School and is co-owner of S & S Construction in Stanberry. Their wedding is to be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at St. Gregory's Parish in Maryville. A reception will follow at 5 p.m. at the Younger Auction Building. Friends and relatives are invited.

She will graduate in 2009 from Drake with a master's degree in accounting. She is employed with the Gegner Company PC in Johnston, Iowa, as a staff accountant. The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Winterset Senior High School and is employed with the Tri-State Company in Grimes, Iowa as a mechanic. She is the daughter of Lee Ann and Philip Ptomey of St. Joseph. He is the son of Billie and Timothy Charboneau of St. Joseph. The bride was escorted by her parents. Maid of honor was Kelcee Anderson, and bridesmaids were Natalie Swope, Katie Ptomey and Alicia Ptomey. CLARKSDALE, Mo. - Mike and Katherine Frazier of Clarksdale will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, Oct. 26. They were married on that date in 1968 at St. Munchins Catholic Church in Cameron, Mo. He retired from the United States Post Office after 35 years of employment. She retired from the Social Security Administration after 31 years of employment. Their children are Rhonda and Gary Lippold of Amity, Mo., and Ron Frazier of Overland Park, Kan. Eddie L. and Carol Ann (Shady) Kerns of St. Joseph recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, Sept. 26, while on a tour of Israel, Jordan and Egypt. They were married on that date in 1958 at Francis Street First United Methodist Church. He retired from the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1992. She retired from the Missouri Division of Employment Security in 1992. Hosting a family get together at a later date will be their son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Sheri of Liberty, Mo., and two grandchildren. Leonard and Janice Edrington of St. Joseph will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary today. They were married Oct. 19, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rhinland, Texas. He served in the Air Force, stationed at Mountain Home (Idaho) Air Force Base, and was employed with Simplot in Mountain Home. He retired from Omnium (formerly Farmland). She is employed with J.P. Morgan Chase. They moved to St. Joseph in 1977. Their children are Michelle Brinkman and Laura Lake, both of St. Joseph, and Leon Edrington of Kansas City, Mo. There is one grandchild. Charles and Martel Lehr of St. Joseph will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the home of their daughter, Evelyn Morgan, at 4318 Hidden Valley Drive. He served in the Army in Regensburg, Germany and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1985. She retired in 1987 from the Commerce Bank as a teller after 23 years of service. Their children and their spouses are Ronald M. Lehr of Baton Rouge, La., and Gerald N. and Sandy Lehr and Evelyn L. and Wayne Morgan all of St. Joseph. There are two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great-grandson and four step-great-grandchildren.

CAMDEN POINT, Mo. - Elijah and Edna Mae (Thomas) Duncan of Camden Point celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 15. They were married on that date in 1948 at the Christian Church in St. Joseph. He is a veteran of World War II and retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad after 42 years of service. She was a homemaker. Their son is Steven Ray Duncan of St. Joseph. There are two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and four step-great-grandchildren. MARYVILLE, Mo. Donald and Margaret (Walker) Cordell of Maryville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Nodaway County Senior Center in Maryville. Hosting the event will be their children and their spouses, Jeff and Deanne Cordell, Randy and Judy Frueh and Jeff and Glenda Long. Also hosting will be nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
