It’s official, New Kids on the Block are reuniting!! The 8-year-old fan inside of me is screaming giddily and jumping up and down!
But now comes the serious question: If I get the chance to go to a New Kids on the Block concert, would I actually go? There are a couple factors to consider. The first is money. If tickets cost more than $50 (and that might even be a high price) I wouldn’t go. I also wouldn’t travel farther than Kansas City to see them.
But, for the right price and the right distance, I think there’s a pretty good chance I would be in the crowd, swaying along to the music, reliving the glory days of my youth (and by youth I mean second grade, which was the last and only time I saw New Kids on the Block in concert).
I have a feeling the NKOTB reunion could be a success, merely for the fact that every girl who was a fan 20 years ago will want to see how the group has fared over the years. It’s a morbid fascination — did the hunky teens we lusted over so long ago turn into hunky older men? (Recent publicity photos would tell us yes, they did.)
I’ll be curious to see what happens with the NKOTB tour, and if it’ll come anywhere close to Kansas City. If so, I’ll be there. Maybe I’ll get lucky and they can sign my New Kids tapes for me (yes I still have them, don’t judge!).
Admit it, you've listened to your New Kids on the Block tapes in the past year. I love the fashion and the haircuts in the top photo ... and that Donnie Wahlberg is trying so hard to look tough.
