Boil order for Easton

Friday, August 8, 2008

A boil order has been issued for the city of Easton’s public water supply system.

The order went into effect Thursday due to low levels of disinfectant and will remain in place until there are two consecutive days of testing that show no contaminates in the water.

The public is urged to boil water for three minutes before cooking or drinking, disinfect dishes in tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach and dispose of ice cubes that were made before the boil order.

The boil order affects areas in the water district south of U.S. Highway 36.
