Time to wake up
We continue to be fed a political propaganda campaign to sell the Iraq War. Can you believe the government has spent millions of your and my tax dollars to hire PR firms to put the spin on the Iraq war news? When we get to vote in November, should we vote for more of the same? Wake up, America.
Pump pain
When I left St. Joseph Saturday morning gas here had just jumped 10 cents to $3.59. When I got to Columbia, Mo., I found out the gas there had just dropped 10 cents to $3.29 cents. Isn’t there something very wrong with this picture?
Tax and tax
John and Cindy McCain might be in bigger trouble than just forgetting the number of houses that they own. If Barack Obama gets into the White House, they’ll probably have to sell some of those homes to pay his crazy tax increases.
All scrambled
I fail to see how direct television is government mandated. And if we don’t have a direct TV converter we can’t watch TV. But we can’t have a government-mandated health insurance? Could someone please explain that? I see where our priorities are obviously.
Editor’s note: Direct TV is an optional satellite television service that consumers can purchase if they wish. The government mandate is for analog television signals to be sent in digital format early next year.
Wonderful
I want to thank Rep. Martin Rucker for the directory and interim report that he sent out to all of us this week. It’s wonderful. And it’s actually something that can be used by the average constituent. And I just feel that a lot of work and a lot of common sense went into this. And it just makes me proud that we have such a representative who would do such a good thing for the people of St. Joseph.
Low rollers
I’m calling in about the amendment on the ballot they want to vote on. I live in a neighborhood here in St. Joseph where just about everybody in my neighborhood goes to the casino. And no one in this neighborhood that I know of, can spend $500 in two hours. They don’t have that kind of money. We might go with $5 or $10 or something like that.
Cream or sugar?
“Time to come” home doesn’t want us to be in a war with the terrorists. I guess they would rather that we have more 9/11, more terrorist attacks in this country. Oh, that’s right, if Barack Obama is elected president he’s going to have all the terrorists sitting around the campfire holding hands singing Kumbaya. Or maybe he’ll have a little tea party where they can sit around sipping tea and eating crumpets or maybe have his arugula sandwiches and sip on Perrier.
