Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama speaks to a group of people at American Airlines in Kansas City.
Sen. Barack Obama underlined the United States’ economic woes to a group of workers American Airlines may lay off at its overhaul base in Kansas City Tuesday.
A longtime Buchanan County Democrat and union leader, Bill Caldwell of American Airlines, said he hopes Mr. Obama’s speech will help put pressure on the company to keep most of its maintenance operations currently in Kansas City online.
Here are clips of the Democratic presidential hopeful’s address.
Also, catch video of Missouri Rep. Martin Rucker, D-St. Joseph, who was one of six audience members to take the microphone and ask Mr. Obama a question. Mr. Rucker asked the candidate from Illinois what he would do to help lower the costs of prescription drugs.
