Case dismissed

Beth Wilhite, Wathena, Kan., by the state on three misdemeanor charges of issuing a worthless check.

Arraignment set for Dec. 23

Loal Joiner, St. Joseph, on misdemeanor charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Probation granted

Keith G. Allen, Atchison, Kan., for one year after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals; must pay $1,000 fine; a misdemeanor charge of unlawful disposal of animals was dismissed by the state.

Thomas L. Cowan, Leona, Kan., for one year after pleading no contest to two misdemeanor charges, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct; must pay $350 fine.

Damiean A. Erickson, St. Joseph, for one year after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge of theft; must pay restitution; a misdemeanor charge of trespassing was dismissed by the state.

Ginni Glessner, White Cloud, Kan, for one year after pleading no contest to four misdemeanor charges of issuing a worthless check; must pay restitution.

Nicholas L. Shalz, Troy, Kan., for one year after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence; must serve 48 hours shock detention; must pay $500 fine; a traffic infraction of failure to maintain a single lane, was dismissed by the state.

Seth A. Tollefson, Hiawatha, Kan., for six months after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge of issuing a worthless check; must pay restitution.

Sentenced to prison

Tamara Kostman, Troy, Kan., for 186 months on a felony charge of second-degree murder; must pay restitution; must also serve 36 months post-release supervision.
