Tote-ability makes Klein bag a keeper
by Cathy Woolridge

I’m in love — with a tool tote.

To be more precise, the Klein canvas 18-inch tool tote with reinforced vinyl bottom. It won me over with not only its style, but its functionally.

While I’m not a super do-it-yourselfer by any means, I do have tools that I use regularly, and I like to keep them where I can get to them. For years, that meant in a sturdy plastic toolbox.

No more. The toolbox has been relegated to the garage.

The tote, with its ample side pockets and pouches, easily holds my pink impact drill, pivot driver, assortment of screwdrivers, pliers and wrenches. There’s room for drill bits, fasteners, tape measure, a laser level/stud finder and other items I may put in there. The only things I couldn’t fit in the bag were my sanders.

The tote, which has some weight to it even empty, is generously sized, but still easy to carry. The bottom is reinforced and features studs so that the bag doesn’t sit directly on the ground. Even the handles and harness leather straps are reinforced.

One great asset is the steel-framed mouth. The tote opens wide and stays open, which lets you easily see in and get to your tools.

The only drawback might be the tote’s light color, a dirt magnet. So, a note to Klein Tools: Keep the features that make this tote so great, but green, red or navy blue might be a better color choice.
