Police officer involved in accident
by Marshall White
Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Rain and an emergency dispatch contributed to a St. Joseph Police Department officer’s wreck of a cruiser.

A communicator dispatched Officer Roy Wedlow at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday for a response to an emergency 911 call, said Jim Connors, patrol division commander. Mr. Wedlow drove east on U.S. Highway 36 with emergency lights on, Mr. Connors said. The vehicle hydroplaned slamming into the wall that divides the highway, he said. The officer was shaken but unhurt. Additional details are expected.
