New police link allows sharing of data

St. Joseph Police will soon be linking up with other law enforcement agencies across the state to share criminal information.

Today the St. Joe Police Department signed an agreement with the Missouri Department Of Public Safety to become a part of their Mo-Dex system. Sergeant Ron Gordon says with the new system they have a better ability to analyze crime trends across jurisdictional boundaries. The new system will also allow them to look for individual crime specifics in other jurisdictions so they can link crimes together.

Gordon says agencies will no longer have to work seperatly, but instead be able to link all their information together.
