The St. Joseph Police Department is ready for inspection. The department recently underwent a mock inspection by a Kansas City agency earlier this month. That was to prepare them for their tri-annual CLEA accreditation coming up in August. CLEA is an agency that holds other agencies like the St. Joe PD to policies, procedures and standards set by them. They inspect aspects like evidence, complaints, recruiting and vehicles.

Sergeant Richard Wall of the department said the mock walk through showed no major problems and he is ready for the August inspection. Sgt. Wall said CLEA sets the department to national standards. It also shows the public that they are doing their best for the community.
