by Alyson E. Raletz
Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Absentee voting begins today in Buchanan County for the Aug. 5 primary election.

Registered voters who can’t make it to the polls that day because of absence or a physical disability are eligible to vote at Buchanan County Clerk Pat Conway’s office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, according to a county news release.

The clerk’s office is located on the first floor of the Buchanan County Courthouse, at Fifth and Jules streets.

Election workers and caregivers also are eligible to vote absentee.

To request an absentee ballot, view sample ballots or for more voting information, go to the county’s Web site and click "County Clerk" on the drop-down menu.
