Dr. Scanlon says goodbye to students and faculty.

Doctor Jim Scanlon said goodbye to Missouri Western students Friday after serving seven years as the University's president.

President Scanlon said he spent his final week on the job attending meetings and finishing paperwork.

Scanlon also sent out a goodbye email to all Missouri Western students.

He and his family will spend their retirement in North Carolina where he said he will do some writing and stay active in the community there.

Even though he said he's excited to move, leaving St. Joe behind is bittersweet.

Scanlon said he is confident that Western will continue their focus on the students and applied learning, two things he thinks makes the university great.
