It is a day of music, food and drink specials, Monday is Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo is supposed to be a day of celebration for Mexicans because of a battle Mexico won in the French-American War. However, it is residents of the United States that do most of the celebrating.
Here in St. Joseph, most of the Mexican restaurants are offering food and drink specials to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Or if you would like some live entertainment, Las Palma's Restaurant on the North Belt will have a magician and live band Monday evening. Rick Palma, the owner of Las Palma's, said Cinco de Mayo is another day for an excuse to go out and have fun. Of course Las Palma's is not the only restaurant celebrating, we checked with La Mesa and El Maguey who both said they have food and drink specials all night.
