SEDALIA, Mo. — Two St. Joseph residents were injured Friday afternoon in a motorcycle wreck in Pettis County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle’s operator, 49-year-old John J. Rowe, was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia for treatment of moderate injuries.
A passenger, 50-year-old Jane E. Rowe, was taken by Lifeflight air ambulance to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. A nursing supervisor said Ms. Rowe was listed in fair condition Friday night.
The patrol said the wreck occurred at about 3:50 p.m. on Missouri Route M at Leiter Road in Pettis County. Mr. Rowe, driving a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was headed southbound on the highway when he failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle left the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting both victims.
