One of the leading executives in the entertainment industry will share his wisdom in Atchison, Kan., this week.
Peter C. Brown, chairman of AMC Entertainment, will deliver the 150th Cray Lecture at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Benedictine College. The business lecture, which is sponsored by the college’s Cray Center for Entrepreneurship, will be held in O’Malley-McAllister Auditorium at 1020 N. Second St.
Mr. Brown leads one of the largest movie theater companies in the world, with interests in 353 theaters with more than 5,000 screens throughout the United States and Canada, plus Hong King, France, Mexico and the United Kingdom. AMC opened the first mall multiplex in 1963, followed by the first four- and six-screen theaters later in the decade and the first megaplex in 1995.
As only the third chairman in the 85-year history of AMC, Mr. Brown will talk about the corporate values of a giant in the entertainment industry.
Mr. Brown serves on corporate boards for Midway Games, National CineMedia, MovieTickets.com and Embarq Corp., along with the Rockhurst High School board of trustees.
