This is: Extreme Carlos
Ska music is practically non-existent on a local level. But that’s changed a little thanks to St. Joe ska group Extreme Carlos. What started as a seven-member side project in January is now a trio featuring members of the now-defunct Broken Avenue and The Great Northern. With influences like Sublime, Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish, ska is music that bassist/vocalist Patrick Rivera has always wanted to create and thinks a crowd will want to hear. “I think a lot of people like to listen to it because it’s really upbeat, really happy music,” Rivera says. Extreme Carlos will perform with the A&L Project at 10 p.m. tonight at The Rendezvous. Cover is $3. To hear Extreme Carlos, go to www.myspace.com/extremecarlosband.
