Two Stewartsville residents were injured when the driver’s dirt bike hit a dog Saturday evening in Worth County.
Richard Jones, 31, of Stewartsville, was driving east on 356th Street when his 2003 Letko cycle dirt bike hit a dog on the road, four miles west of Stewartsville.
Mr. Jones and his wife and passenger, Kayci Jones, 24, of Stewartsville, were thrown from the bike and landed in the road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Mr. Jones was taken by Lifenet Air Ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph and was listed in serious condition, a nursing supervisor said. Ms. Jones was transported to Heartland by ambulance and was listed in fair condition. Neither was wearing a helmet.
A summons is pending.
