While Andy's picks stunk for a second straight week, I was right there to look terrible with him. A few confusing big school matchups left both of us looking like Chris Berman as "The Swami." (That is not a compliment.)

A 6-4 performance wasn't a killer for me. Andy, well, he might be replaced in this column with a few more weeks of barely above the .500 mark picks.

But good or bad, Andy and I will look the same again this week after picking the same 10 teams, just as we did last week.

We're both looking for a bounce-back performance in Week 3, and I feel like the high school landscape has started to become a little more clear.

But in the meantime, thank you Belton, Liberty and O'Hara for making us look foolish last week. We won't make the same mistakes again.

On a positive note, props to North Platte for a huge win against Maysville. Andy was smart enough to point out in last week's post how we both believed North Platte had a shot to prove its merit.

Well, the Panthers did and probably a little more impressive than we would've thought.

Wes Johnson led North Platte to a 43-6 drubbing of the previously ranked Wolverines and now has nine TD passes in two games. Hopefully, Andy will go with his gut a bit more in the coming weeks, or maybe he's been going with his gut a bit too much.
