The site at the Shoppes at North Village just wasn’t working.
That’s what a Chick-fil-A spokesman said. The spot, right at the entrance near Chili’s, has had a troubled life. First, Colton’s Steakhouse pulled out, then Chick-fil-A. It’s prime real estate and I imagine the developer is asking a corresponding prime price.
Even though Chick-fil-A won’t be at the Shoppes, they offer assurances they will build in St. Joseph.
The closed-on-Sundays restaurant has a niche in food courts across the South.
East Hills Shopping Center is renovating its food court, which is still scheduled to open later this year. Will Chick-fil-A locate inside the mall? It’s possible, but I don’t think it’s likely.
The company submitted building plans to the City of St. Joseph for a stand-alone store. We’ll keep a close eye on pad sites located outside the mall. One just might be calling Chick-fil-A’s name.
Chick Fil A is awesome. It's owned by Mormons in utah. That's why it's closed every Sunday.
For those that have never had a chick fil A sandwich, try it. It's one of the healthier chicken restaraunts and it comes really close to beating out KFC's original recipe in taste.
All in all, it's not the mashed potato, bone in fried chicken, and slaw. It's white meat, boneless, and awesome. Oh and give their nuggets a shot. YUUUUMMMMMMMMM!

and yes, coming from a southern boy, chick-fil-a rules!

Truett teaches Sunday school and he wants to allow his employees to attend church. Funny thing is, my ex girlfriend's father told me the Mormon story. Rumors spread fast I guess.

Posted by akm on September 16, 2008 at 1 p.m. (Suggest removal)I doubt it goes in the mall, because the stores there are required to be open 7 days a week. When I worked there (in the mall) a store could be fined for closing early and not opening.
Posted by Bsquared on September 17, 2008 at 1:37 p.m. (Suggest removal)They are in malls all over the nation that require tenants to be open 7 days a week, and they still close on sunday - everything is negotiable. I hope they dont end up in the mall because drive thru's rule
