An instant international superstar
YouTube turns Susan Boyle into a singing sensation
by Lacey Storer
Friday, April 17, 2009

If you haven't heard of the latest internet sensation, let me introduce you to Susan Boyle. An unlikely contest on "Britain's Got Talent," Susan went from a frumpy, dumpy wannabe singer to an international sensation, thanks to her phenomenal singing voice (and the power that is YouTube).

Susan, 47, living alone with her cat and never been kissed, has all the things needed to become the British William Hung. But then she opens her mouth and... what comes out is nothing short of amazing.

Now, Susan's gone on to the second round of competition, but even if she doesn't win, she's already won. With a voice like that, and her underdog storyline, she's sure to get a record, movie or book deal. And she deserves it.

Check her out for yourself in this interview with "The Early Show."
