1 Killed in Head On Collision

A near head-on collision this morning takes the life of a Saint Joseph man.

Missouri State Highway Patrol officials say it happened around 5:30 this morning just south of the intersection of Highway 229 and route "A".

Authorities say 28 year old Matthew Logsdon of St Joe was driving north on "A" in a Buick Century when 18 year old Kalan Pyle of Atchison crossed over the center line while driving southbound in a GMC Savana, striking Logsdon's vehicle. Logsdon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pyle was taken to Heartland Hospital with moderate injuries.
