A Chillicothe, Mo., woman was hospitalized after losing control of her motorcycle on Thursday afternoon.
At 3:30 p.m., Laieloni Knouse, 42, was driving her 1998 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Missouri Route U, five miles southeast of Jamesport, Mo., when she failed to navigate a left-hand curve, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. The motorcycle then traveled off the right side of the road, overturning and coming to rest partially on top of the driver.
Ms. Knouse was considered to be in serious condition when transported by Life Flight Eagle Helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. A media contact for the hospital said she was still being examined on Thursday night.
Ms. Knouse was wearing a safety device, the patrol said.
