Reason to laugh if your Valentine's gift is less than grand
Men in the 'Doghouse' show you're not alone in experiencing - or making - gift-giving blunders
by Erin Wisdom
Friday, February 13, 2009

As I sit at my desk now, my line of vision is impeded by what is perhaps the most massive floral display I've ever witnessed.

Not that I'm complaining. It's pretty. And definitely interesting, especially given that I didn't know before today that birds of paradise is a flower. Evidently, my co-worker's husband is no slacker when it comes to Valentine's.

But based upon the displays of disbelief and all the cell-phone photos that have been snapped of this impressive arrangement, I'm guessing not everyone expects to give (or receive) a gift quite so extravagant tomorrow - which reminded me of the "Beware of the Doghouse" JC Penney commercial that warns men of the potential consequences of giving their significant others gifts such as vacuums or Thighmasters.

I don't think my co-worker's husband needs to worry. But for those of you who don't get (or give) a gift quite so Valentine's worthy, maybe this video will at least help you see some humor in the situation.
