This is: 90 Minutes
by Blake Hannon
Friday, January 9, 2009

While most music fans seem to be caught up on ‘80s nostalgia, the members of the Kansas City sextet 90 Minutes noticed something significant in the decade that followed it. “The thing that we discovered ... is the ridiculous amount of diversity that the decade had to offer musically,” says bassist Tyson Leslie. So, 90 Minutes has devoted its time to becoming KC’s premier ‘90s tribute band. The band could play any number of 250 songs, which includes everything from LL Cool J and Christina Aguilera to Sister Hazel and White Zombie. Each member has other musical projects, but 90 Minutes is what currently draws the biggest crowds. “It’s kind of like our day job, so to speak,” Leslie says. “But at the same time, it’s a hell of a lot more fun.” 90 Minutes will perform at 9 p.m. tonight at Hammerjacks Rock-N-Roll Sports Bar. Cover is $3.
