Notes from the ‘New Moon’ casting couch
Take a look at a few suggestions for the ‘Twilight’ sequel
by Lacey Storer
Friday, January 23, 2009

Since we can’t spend all of our time discussing Rob Pattinson’s finer points (That hair! Those eyes!), let’s discuss some of the possible casting additions for “New Moon.”

According to reports, Dakotah Fanning is in talks to be cast as the child-like vampire Jane. I don’t know if I like the idea of a child actor playing someone who’s supposed to be centuries old. And while I think Dakotah is a good actor, I’m not sure I can see her playing someone so mean.

This tidbit from EW.com has a few suggestions for the casting of the Volturi, all of which I think are excellent possibilities. And we already know that Taylor Lautner will reprise the role of Jacob, but do you think he really can handle? Sure, he’s bulking up for the part, but I still think he’s too baby-face to try and compete with Rob Pattinson’s good looks (and Bella’s heart).

Dakota would be a great choice for Jane. Hopefully that will work out.

Taylor Lautner is fine for Jacob....they don't need to change actors. He can't compete with Pattinson...but he'll be fine.

I think Dakota will be fine...She is so pale white naturally her skin is almost translucent. And as for Taylor, he's cute enough but he's going to need some facial hair or something to look more masculine. Although even when Jacob changed I still pictured him boyish. No competition for Rob, but he doesn't win her anyway, so it doesn't matter :)

Dear Ms. Storer, the term "Casting Couch" is a euphemism for trading sex for career advancement. You REALLY need to edit your headline, particularly since Ms. Fanning is only 14. :(
