First Car Memories

Sunday, July 26, 2009

My brother Ben drove it to school from our New Point farm. His classmates nicknamed him, Benny Bus.

My dad’s first car was a 1947 Chevy from Braggs Chevrolet in Oregon, Mo. I rode with my grandfather, John Marriner when we picked it up.

My Aunt, Ruth Marriner Hollenbeck’s first car was a 1931 Model A. Al Fike taught her to drive it one day and the next day she drove it to Highland County School to teach.

Don Scheib’s first car was a 1953 Chevy Bel Air. He also had a 1955 Chevy Bel Air and a 1957 Bel Air.

C.R. Kneale, my grandfather, his first car was a 1920 Dodge Hisbiret truck was a RGO 1910 Renson Oldsmobile.

Melvin Scheibs first car was a 1904 Buick purchased from the Lentz family at New Point, Mo.

Phillip Schlotzhamers had the first car in Holt Co. Ivan Fike burned it up smoking in the garage.
