Today, Linda Judah, the executive director of the Social Welfare Board, met with Buchanan county commissioners to ask for $8500 to help keep the facility running through June.

The social welfare board, at the St. Joseph/Buchanan County Health Department, offers medical and dental services to individuals with no insurance, as well as services for the homeless. Nearly 130 patients visit the facility daily.

Judah says lack of anticipated funding made their operating budget short.
