Weather permitting, the Missouri Department of Transportation will work with construction companies and maintenance employees this week on a number of roads in Northwest Missouri. Motorists should use caution and slow down in all construction zones. Numerous state routes in the area are being patched, asphalted or oiled in addition to the roads listed below:

- ST. JOSEPH — Two days of pavement repair work will begin today in the southbound lanes of Interstate 29. Traffic will be narrowed to one lane near the 42- and 44-mile markers.

- GRAHAM — Herzog begins a $1.4 million resurfacing project for three counties. Today, work begins on an 11-mile section of Missouri Highway 111 from Missouri Highway 113 to the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 near Graham. Another portion of the contract includes a six-mile asphalt overlay on Missouri Highway 246, from the intersection of Missouri Highway 148 to the intersection of Missouri Route E near Hopkins, Mo. And an asphalt overlay on Missouri Route C in Andrew County will be done from Missouri Highway 48 to Missouri Route E near Savannah.

- MAYSVILLE — A bridge on Missouri Highway 33 south of Maysville will be narrowed to one lane for deck repairs beginning at 8 a.m. today for nine hours.

- ROCK PORT — Herzog begins a $1.5 million contract for three resurfacing projects in Atchison County. Asphalt overlays will be completed on Missouri Highway 111, Missouri Route O and U.S. Highway 59 this summer.
