Judy’s D&G Restaurant at 1918 Frederick Ave., closed today.
Owners Pete and Pam Miner are retiring after 38 years in business.
A sign on the restaurant’s door read: “We want to thank our wonderful employees, most of whom have been with us for many years. Without them we could not have made it this long. And to our loyal customers, we thank you so much for your patronage and friendship through the years. We will miss you.”
Mr. Miner began working at the restaurant in 1971 for the previous owner, Julius “Judy” Glaser. The Miners purchased the restaurant in 1975 and through the years added catering and expanded the eatery’s size.
D&G has been for sale for several years but the Miners have been unsuccessful in finding a predecessor.
I am so sorry to see them close. We had dinner there Saturday evening.
Pete and Pam are the greatest. I wish them the best, and will miss all of the folks at the D&G.
Shouldn't that be 'successor'?

Mizzou_69 March 10, 2009 at 7:43 a.m. (Suggest removal)What's wrong with predecessor??? (something replaced by something) in this case, an owner.
The problem is that 'predecessor' means "one who comes before," whereas "one who comes after" is successor.
