Several celebrities put their way into St. Joseph for a good cause. Monday, marked the 7th annual Missouri Western State University Celebrity Golf Classic at the St. Joseph Country Club. 42 teams participated in the tournament to help raise money for the YWCA's Shelter for Abused and Homeless Women and Children and MWSU's Athletic Department.
A Western official says they hope to raise $35,000 this year. Some players on hand included, Art Still, who played for the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, former NFL All Pro-Linebacker E.J. Junior, former player of the Kansas City Royals, Al Fitzmorris and former Chiefs player Kimble Anders who said he's been a part of the tournament for years.
the golf tournament wrapped up Monday. MWSU held other events over the weekend in an effort to raise money. The events included a charity dinner, Texas hold'em tournament and a private dinner for celebrities. The event raised $50,000 last year.
