A man in a car was arrested Thursday after pointing a BB gun at another vehicle.
Capt. Janice Rothganger said about 4:50 p.m., a man reported a vehicle stopping near him at 11th and Olive streets and pointing a gun in his direction.
Shortly after the incident, police were able to stop the vehicle and confirm and arrest the suspect.
Ms. Rothganger said the weapon was found to be a BB gun, but the suspect was still taken into custody on a city charge of disorderly conduct. His name was not released pending possible state charges.
“It’s definitely not a good thing. There are people who don’t know that it’s a toy,” Ms. Rothganger said. “We respond with real guns, so we don’t want to see someone get in trouble that way.”
