MARYVILLE, Mo. — A 26-year-old man is charged with three counts of felony stealing from his Maryville employer.

The state charged Chad A. Chubick with stealing cash and lottery tickets between Nov. 1, 2008, and Oct. 15 from Murphy Oil USA in Maryville, said David Baird, Nodaway County prosecutor.

A probable cause statement put the amount of cash taken at $163,334. The cash allegedly was taken over the 11-month period from cigarette sales and deposits.

Associate Circuit Judge Glen Dietrich set bond at $150,000. The defendant will be arraigned at 9 a.m. Nov. 17. If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum of seven years in prison and a $5,000 fine on each count.
