Jason Park announced Thursday that he will run for the Buchanan County clerk's position in the November 2010 election.
The current clerk, Pat Conway, will leave the position to run for the 27th Missouri House District seat in the same election. Mr. Conway has served as the county clerk since 1983.
Mr. Park worked in the clerk's office for a little more than a year as a computer technician and database developer in the late 1990s. He also served on Mr. Conway's election staff in 2008.
Mr. Park has been the St. Joseph planning and zoning commissioner and was co-chairman of the recent successful campaign to re-authorize the St. Joseph School District's operating levy.
