Sylvia Says: O’Cedar Scrub Fresh toilet bowl brush gets an ugly job done
by Sylvia Anderson
Saturday, October 3, 2009

Unlike baking a cake or even mowing the lawn, cleaning the toilet bowl is a job that gets little respect and no appreciation. When is the last time someone told you what a wonderfully clean toilet bowl you have? So the goal is to just get it done as fast as possible.

O’Cedar’s new Scrub Fresh Toilet Bowl Brush may be just the tool to do that. It has what they call “triple-action cleaning” from three different lengths of bristles on the brush. Long-angled bristles allow you to easily scrub under the rim, and shorter bristles give the bowl a thorough scrubbing. It also has an answer for the dirty brush. According to the press release, the brush has anti-microbial protection built into the bristles to prevent the growth of odor-causing bacteria. It’s built into the manufacturing process, so it won’t wash out. And the caddy comes with a hygienic spray, so you can freshen the brush after every use. (The spray is said to last about three months). You put the brush in the caddy and push down on top of the spray compartment to spray the brush, so you don’t have to touch anything.

The bottom line: The built-in hygienic spray is a little over the top unless you are a clean fanatic. But O’Cedar did a great job designing the brush. Although it doesn’t make cleaning the toilet any more enjoyable, it gets the job done fast. The suggested retail price is $9.99 to $13.99. For more information visit www.ocedar.com.
