Vida Jones of St. Joseph will celebrate her 100th birthday on October 10. She was born on that date in 1909 in Versailles, Mo.

Vida has resided in the community for 95 years. She married Albert H. Jones on June 11, 1933. He passed away in 1994. She is a member of the Carnegie Baptist Church.

She has one son, Brad (Virginia) Jones of Houston, Texas. Her grandchildren are: Tracy (Terry) Christie of St. Joseph; Robin (David) Lowe of Rochester, Minn.; and Traci (John) Willis of Houston, Texas. She also has four great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons.
