Kmart Offer For Unemployed
by Bob Heater
Tuesday, October 6, 2009

One national chain store is doing something to assist people out of work but in need of necessities.

Kmart stores across the country have put the "Smart Assist" program into play.

It gives an unemployed person the chance to save an additional 20% off the price of Kmart private label brands. Many of those are of course at reduced prices as compared to name brands.

The unemployed person has to go on line to register for the program and confirm that they are unemployed. Then they will be issued a card that is good for six months worth of 20% off savings.

The discounts apply to nearly 1,500 products throughout the store ranging from diapers, to bleach, health and beauty to aspirins. The additional discount does not apply to on-line purchases or sale prices.

To participate in the smart assist program or to see if you qualify, go to: www.kmart.com/smartassist.

k-mart operates over fourteen hundred stores across the U.S.
