Wayne Kurtz will celebrate his 80th birthday on October 18. He was born on that date in 1929 in the rural area of Oregon, Mo.

He married Anita Fink in 1952. They have two children: Denise Bechdoldt, Neosho, Mo.; and Bradley Kurtz, Oregon, Mo.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A celebration will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Oregon United Methodist Church, 202 Main St., Oregon, Mo., on October 18. Family and friends are invited.
