Five people were inducted, Friday night, into the Missouri Newspaper Hall Of Fame. One of those was the founder of St. Joseph Cablevision and long time publisher of the St. Joseph News Press And Gazette, David R. Bradley Senior.

Bradley was the chairman of the board and C.E.O. of the St. Joseph News Press & Gazette Company and founder of St. Joseph Cablevision. He published the News Press & Gazette from 1956 to 1981. He died at the age of 70.

Bradley kicked off St. Joseph Cablevision in 1965 and went on to own several television stations in Georgia, Mississippi, South Dakota and North Carolina. He was active in many St. Joseph area organizations and always insisted that his newspapers take an active role in the community. He was also president of the St. Joseph Industrial Development Corp. that established the industrial park on the east side of St. Joseph.

The induction was held Friday night during the Missouri Press Association's 143rd annual convention in Kansas City.
