2 Charged In Burglary Investigation

A man and woman are are charged today in connection of a string of burglaries in and around St. Joseph.

25 year old Kerin Kirk is charged with burglary, a class c felony.she's being held in the Buchanan County Law Enforcement Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

39 year old Shane Adams was turned over to federal agents today. he was being held for a weapons violations with no bond. The two were allegedly part of a bigger operation.

last week, St. Joseph police arrested five people in relation to multiple burglaries. Adams was taken into custody last week after a brief standoff with police at the Budget Inn Motel on the North Belt Highway.

St. Joseph police Captin Kevin Castle says two other suspects are still in custody on warrants not related to this burglary investigation.and one has since been released.

The efforts to bring in the suspects have been joint between St. Joseph Police, Buchanan County Sheriff's Department, The Buchanan County Drug Strike Force, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the A.T.F.

Police say they are still looking for more suspects and stolen property.and urge the public to contact the department with any information they may have.
