It's your call, Oct. 25, 2009

Stay home

This is for all the people who seem to like to go out in public when they have the swine flu: People, when you’re sick, stay home and give the rest of us a break.

*******

Say anything

The caller who says President Obama is trying to destroy this nation and that terrorism suspects from Guantanamo Bay are going to be turned loose in the United States, these allegations are typical of the kind of lies and delusional thoughts that are caused by people’s hatred of Mr. Obama. These callers are either so racist or so hopeful of gaining political advantage that they will say anything, no matter how absurd.

*******

What’s this?

I recently received a mailer from the Citizens Against Forever Tax, and I was wondering why they’re still opposing the school levy. Their name indicates they were only opposed to the levy increase back in April because they didn’t want to eliminate the sunset clause. Now the schools are re-adding the sunset clause, so shouldn’t the name no longer be Citizens Against Forever Tax? Why are they still opposing it?

*******

No more

I too had experience with VA health care for more than 20 years. For minor health care problems, they were OK, but serious health care problems and the lack of proper care nearly cost me my life. Many old vets passed away. No more VA hospital care for me.

*******

Fancy stuff

I’m always hearing the school board gripe about not having money to do this, not having money to do that, give us money to build new schools. You know, they catered in CiCi’s pizza to all their schools yesterday. Where did they get the money for that?

*******

How dare he

I had to laugh at the article on Dick Cheney criticizing the White House about taking so much time to do something about the Afghan situation. How sad it is that this man who was our vice president for eight years did absolutely nothing, along with George Bush, when it came to Afghanistan. They dragged their feet like typical Republicans. How dare he criticize anybody in the White House for what they are doing in Afghanistan.

to "say anything," obviously you think that when someone has a counterpoint to the opinion of this president, they are delt the "race card." let me tell you that line of thinking brands YOU a racist, or even worse someone who can't understand the true peril this man is placing our fighting men and women in by waffling on a decision that not only effects their saftey, but ultimatley ours. our presence in the middle east however inflamitory to some, is a welcome endeavor by others that live through that hell everyday. providing security, health care, education, basic human needs are all parts of the mission our soldiers are doing. and not giving them enough people on the ground to round up these insurgents is a slap in the face to their very ability to do the job they were trained to do. if we were to pull out tomorrow, the taliban would have that country back in their grasp in less than a week. their military is not yet strong enough to deal with that threat. with the taliban, you have their partner al quiada. and we all know what they are capable of. with the fostered hatred of you and me and the rest of america, another attack would be imminent. so don't you dare call me a racist when i care more about the lives of our fighting men and women that i do a politician. get a clue.

To "say anything"....Obama HAS been considering turning Gitmo prisoners loose in the U.S. So far, Congress has stopped him from doing so.

"WASHINGTON, Oct 20 (Reuters) - The Supreme Court said on Tuesday it would hear an appeal by Chinese Muslim prisoners held for years at Guantanamo Bay who argue that they should be released in the United States."

"President Barack Obama has ordered that Guantanamo prison be closed by Jan. 22, but administration officials said the deadline probably will not be met."

"Early this year, the Obama administration said it was considering freeing the Uighurs in the United States, but a political firestorm erupted, with many members of Congress opposing such a transfer."

Anybody that criticizes the "empty suit" is wrong in the eyes of you that have been duped. The former administration did more for this country than that clown that hates America and wants to take us to socialism. When will you wake up? What, name one thing this community organizer has done except degrade America and surround himself with tax cheats, domestic terrorists, and communist disciples. You elected a fraud and now we are seeing the results. He has made no decision on Afganistan because he has to apease his left wing no war electors and he can't bring himself to make the decision its not he is comptemplating some great strategy he doesn't know how to lead. Cheney has more leadership/diplomacy in his little finger than this misfit clown. Get real and hold on as this idiot leads the country into distruction.

Once again someone calling in and griping about something in the schools before they know the facts...Yes the schools did bring in CiCis pizza and yes it happens quite often...The schools are on the govt food program which mandates what each meal consists of...Pizza is a man dish that falls into the program and it has been served forever in the district...The district and CiCis have a deal and the district gets pizza from them lower than any vendor could provide frozen pizzas to them, that have all the components of the required dish...Example it MUST have so much cheese, meat etc to be a qualified food, CiCis pizza does this and the frozen ones that are offered from vendors that meet the requirement are expensive...Since school lunches are sometimes the best and only meal some of these kids get, the district tries to serve what the kids will eat and pizza is a top hit...It is economically cheaper, better quality, is a better nutrition match and is putting money back into our community..newsflash, sounds like a good idea to me as a parent and also as a member of this community.jeeshhh can we find something else to complain about??

I, too, am very tired of anyone who disagrees with the current administration being branded a "racist". Look, you morons....that is getting VERY over-used, and as has already been said, makes YOU the racist!! Stop playing cards, already!!!

For Say anything, If so many people "hate" Obama, how do you account for his election? Several times in life I have experienced friends and loved ones making wrong decisions. It isn't hate that makes a person speak out trying to correct a loved one, it is genuine love. When a parent refuses to let their child go to a beer party, and the child screams out "You don't love me" doesn't make it so. Some things should never "change" and that has nothing to do with race.

When you don't have any facts, or reason, or logic or any possibility of making a legitimate point, the best thing to do is say the person "hates".....or better yet, is a racist.

When you do that everyone immediately is fully aware of your education level, your intellilgence, your sincerity and your general ability to conduct an intelligent discourse.

Have a nice day "say anything"

zeke, that would be great if they could make everything from scratch that the children eat, but the govt guidelines are so strict as to what each meal must consists of, ingredients etc that it would be nearly impossible to do more than they do by scratch,...if you want more details it is the cacfp program ran by the state...also if you had to make enough stuff be scratch to say feed a school the size of central or another large school, it would take you all day...
