Janie Fergison Kunkel

Janie Fergison Kunkel of St. Joseph will celebrate her 102nd birthday with a potluck meal from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Saxton Riverside Care Center and Country Villa, 1616 Weisenborn Road, St. Joseph, MO 64507, in the activity center. Friends and relatives are invited. Cards may be sent to the honoree.

She was born on October 29, 1907, in Moccasin Bend, Tenn. She kept house for Floyd and Stella Ramsier and helped raise their children. She married Ceacle Fergison in 1924. He died in 1966. She married Harold Kunkel in 1974. He died in 1982.

She has one living child, Don Fergison of Savannah, Mo., and four deceased children: Darlene Malarkey, O’Neal Fergison, Dean Fergison Sr., and Jack Fergison.

There are 23 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
