Makenzie Green

A missing Kansas City teen was found early Thursday morning at a St. Joseph residence.

Police issued an Amber Alert for Makenzie Green, 16, of Grain Valley, Mo., on Wednesday after her car was found in a parking lot in Independence. She had last been seen at 7:30 that morning, dropping a friend off at school in Grain Valley.

Curtis L. Hagey, 16, with whom Makenzie had recently broken up with, also was missing. Police said the ex-boyfriend had recently made threats toward Makenzie and her father. Authorities feared she was in danger when they issued the alert.

St. Joseph police found Makenzie at a South St. Joseph home at about 5:40 a.m. She was taken into protective custody. Another person was taken into custody. There is no word yet if any charges will be filed.
