Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks at Missouri Western, Wednesday night.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spoke Wednesday evening at a private dinner for about 500 at Missouri Western.

The dinner was a precursor to Kennedy's keynote speech Thursday morning for Missouri Western's 16th annual Convocation On Critical Issues.

Kennedy is a well known environmental advocate and spoke about the affect our actions have on future generations. He discussed dependence on coal, the need to rebuild the nations energy grid and the growth of alternative energy resources.

Kennedy urged all people to actively make a difference in their world, even when economic times are tough.

The convocation begins at 9:30 Thursday morning at the M.O. Looney complex on the campus.

This is the 16th year the Missouri Western State University Foundation has sponsored the convocation on critical issues.
