Anthony S. Montalto
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Anthony S. Montalto, 89, Northeast Kansas City, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 5, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5106 St. John Ave., Kansas City, MO 64123; entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum, Raytown, Mo. Visitation will begin with the rosary at 9:30 a.m. and continue until Mass time Thursday at Holy Cross Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Holy Cross Parish or the American Diabetes Association.
Anthony was born February 3, 1920, in Kansas City, and was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Parish. He was honored in 2003 with the Jewelled Veteran's Badge by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for 50 years of service. Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Carmella M. (Belgiere) Montalto, in 1998; his grandson, Anthony S. Montalto II; his parents, Agostino and Bienvenuto (Caracci) Montalto; and brothers, Gus, Arthur, and Angelo Montalto.
Survivors include his son, Augustin Montalto; daughter and son-in-law, Bernadine and David Stevenson of St. Joseph; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Angeline Montalto; and numerous nieces and nephews.
