The website is not showing up correctly on my computer. What should I do?
When you visit a website on the internet, your computer saves information so the next time you visit the page it will load quicker. However, if the site has been updated you may get an error the next time you visit. This can easily be fixed by hitting the refresh button in your browser or by hitting CTRL + F5.
If you are still having trouble it could be the browser you are using. Stjoenews.net tries to abide by certain web standards that are not recognized by older browsers. We recommend using either Internet Explorer 7.0 or Firefox 3.0.
I want to leave a comment. What do I need to do?
This is easy. Click here and follow the process of signing up for an account. None of this information (except the username you select) will appear, publicly, on our website. Once you've done that, you can scroll down to the bottom of any story and leave a comment in the comment field.
I want an offensive comment taken off the website. Who do I contact to do that?
Beside each comment there is a link that says "Suggest Removal." When you click that link the stjoenews.net web team will receive an alert about the reported post. We will then review to see if the post violates any of our policies. If we deem that it does, we will remove the comment.
Why was my comment taken down but not someone else's?
The deleting of posts is up to the staff member's discretion. Just because you feel like a comment needs to be deleted does not mean the staff will always feel the same way.
There are also some cases where some comments are never brought to the attention of our staff. Make sure you hit the "suggest removal" link so we are made aware of the comment. There is no way for us to moderate every single comment that is posted on our site. It is up to the users to make sure everyone abides by the rules.
I saw a great picture on the newspaper/website. Where do I need to go to purchase it?
Any photo taken by the News-Press staff can be purchased through our online photo store. Click here to find the picture you want to purchase. Follow the steps on the website to purchase the photo you are looking for.
