What kind of question is that? Do you believe the confirmed reports? Are you serious, that is your poll? was it a last minute thing, did you over sleep? What is really surprising is that some people voted no. What part of the word confirmed do people not understand or are you just trying to figure out what percentage of your readers are brain dead?
We had grapefruit/softball size hail that went through the country club in 2001. It was amazing and scary. This sounds like a insurance company, they didn't believe it either.
Yes I believe the large hail can happen. In the early 1960's we had hail that big. We live on a farm and had livestock. It killed my chickens and several of my husbands young hogs. Broke out windows and damaged the siding on the houses. Yes, God works in misterious ways to wake us up. HE is still in charge.
Can it happen? Yes. I experienced hail a little larger than golf balls about 12 years ago in Western Iowa.
But these recent reports are off. I was driving in that hailstorm between Gallatin and Winston. The pieces of hail were about the size of Peanut M&Ms. Maybe we didn't get the brunt of it...
I agree with borderpatrol. I've seen softball size hail before outside of Shenandoah Ia as we had to pull off the road and luckily was able to pull into shelter before it hit us. (I've also seen varying sizes of grafefruit) The family had saved some of the hail in their freezer. Phenomenal! Why wouldn't insurance believe? The damage is there. It's when people try to fake the damage on their roofs with ball-peen hammers, or when no other reports of hail were reported OR peanut /M & M/pea size hail was all there was is when it's questioned.

There's some grainy footage of a guy in an ape suit that claims to be Bigfoot. I don't believe that either. :)
